Plot
Woo-sung (Kang Ha-neul) is an ordinary office worker. In 2021, he buys a small apartment in Seoul after taking huge loans. By 2024, he is drowning in debt. He avoids using electricity to save money. His life becomes worse when strange noises start coming from his neighbors .
At first, Woo-sung thinks the noises are from normal apartment life. But they get louder and more disturbing. His neighbors blame him for the sounds. This leads to angry confrontations. The building’s resident representative, Eun-hwa (Yeom Hye-ran), dismisses his complaints. She hints that “undesirable” tenants will soon be forced out.
Woo-sung teams up with his upstairs neighbor, Jin-ho (Seo Hyun-woo), to investigate. They discover a shocking truth. Jin-ho is a journalist seeking revenge against Eun-hwa. She had blocked his exposé on the apartment’s poor construction. Jin-ho framed Woo-sung for the noises to create chaos.
The situation escalates into violence. Jin-ho kills a neighbor and attacks Eun-hwa’s family. In the end, Woo-sung burns evidence of the corruption. He returns to his apartment, still haunted by the sounds of city life .
